Evaluation of Urgent Need Advocacy Service
- Date: February 2017 - June 2021
- Client: MindOut LGBTQ mental health project for Brighton & Hove
Urgent Need was a five year £389,000 Lottery funded project which aimed to improve the lives of LGBTQ people in Brighton & Hove who were experiencing crisis due to economic hardship. It also aimed to influence services to better support the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ people and communities in Brighton & Hove.
MindOut delivered this project in partnership with Allsorts Youth Project and Healthwatch Brighton & Hove.
In partnership with Community Works, Rachel worked with the project's service users, volunteers and staff to develop and implement an evaluation framework to guide the partners' data collection and management.
Throughout the project, Rachel interpreted data gathered by the partners, undertook qualitative interviews, and facilitated focus groups with staff, volunteers and service users.
The evaluation's outcomes continually fed into the ongoing development of the project, and provided evidence of impact both for feedback to funders and for wider communication and awareness-raising.
