For the Government Equalities Office, the National Institute of Economic & Social Research (NIESR) investigated the barriers experienced by employers in developing workplaces that are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGB&T) friendly. Rachel undertook in-depth interviews with employers, investigating their motivation for developing LGB&T friendly policies and practices, the barriers they anticipated and experienced, how they addressed such barriers, and their use of, and satisfaction with, support services.
